Reid joins RCC Board of Trustees

Larry Reid of Asheboro was recently appointed as a new member of the Randolph Community College Board of Trustees. Reid signed his oath of office at the July 18 meeting of the Board held in room 301 of the Administration/Education Building on the Asheboro Campus. He was appointed to a four-year term ending June 30, 2023.

Two Randolph Community College students recently were presented with the annual Waymon C. Martin Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship. Associate in Arts student Carmen Garcia and Medical Assisting student Regina Hoover both received $500 in a ceremony Friday, June 28, in the Student Services Conference Center on the Asheboro Campus.

Pathways Camps fun, eye-opening for participants

The learning experiences — and the fun — were all part of three Pathways Camps put on by Randolph Community College, the Randolph County School System, and the Asheboro City Schools.

Randolph Community College opens 57th school year

Five of Randolph Community College’s Board of Trustees and two members of the RCC Foundation’s Board were on hand Friday, Aug. 16, to welcome the more than 200 RCC faculty and staff members gathered for the school’s fall convocation in the R. Alton Cox Learning Resources Center auditorium. The College opened its 57th year when classes began Monday.

RCC holds ribbon cutting for Welding Center expansion

Randolph Community College held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday as the College increased its number of welding booths at the Archdale Center to 31. Approximately 2,000 square feet of classroom and office space was converted into lab space to accommodate more students.

The building, which houses the College’s Human Services and Massage Therapy programs, will now be known as the Kinley Center.
