Liberty Education & Workforce Training Center Project
Randolph Community College is expanding opportunities in Randolph County with the development of the RCC Liberty Education and Workforce Training Center, a 55,000-square-foot facility designed to meet the growing demand for skilled talent across the region.
Located on a 22-acre site at US 421 and NC 49 in Liberty, North Carolina, the Center will be situated in the heart of the Carolina Core. It will serve as a hub for workforce training in advanced manufacturing, healthcare, and skilled trades, fields that are rapidly evolving alongside major industry investments. As the Carolina Core continues to attract national attention and billions in private-sector growth, the need for a highly trained workforce has never been greater.
The new Center will provide hands-on, industry-aligned training that connects students directly to higher-wage, in-demand careers. For many low- and middle-income families, this means greater access to affordable education, shorter pathways to employment, and the opportunity to build stable, family-sustaining careers close to home. By reducing barriers to training and aligning programs with real workforce needs, RCC is creating clear pathways to economic mobility and long-term success.
Projects like Toyota Battery Manufacturing North Carolina and JetZero’s planned aerospace operations are reshaping the economic landscape of the region. The RCC Liberty Education and Workforce Training Center will play a critical role in supporting this growth by developing the talent pipeline needed to sustain these investments while strengthening the region’s position in advanced manufacturing and innovation.
More than a training facility, the Center represents RCC’s commitment to expanding access to education, partnering with and supporting local industry, and creating pathways to success for students and communities across Randolph County and beyond.
CHAMPIONING OPPORTUNITY
“Toyota would not have built its factory here without this community college. That is why the Liberty Center is so important. We are going to need that training facility that may need to expand as soon as we build it because we want to help Toyota continue to grow and improve. The only thing that will stop our growth is if we fail to prepare for it.”
— US Representative Richard Hudson
“When factories closed overnight, RCC put people back to work within weeks. That is what this college means to our community.”
— Randolph County Board of Comissioners Chair Darrell Frye
