Tutoring Services

Tutoring is offered free of charge to Randolph Community College students. Services are offered by appointment in-person or virtually and can be scheduled during daytime or evening hours.

  • To request tutoring, please submit the Tutor Request Form electronically via Etrieve by using this link or by logging into Etrieve from your MyRCC account.
  • If we do not have a tutor for a subject we will do our best to find one, however we cannot guarantee that we can locate a tutor for every subject.
  • RCC students have free access to an online tutoring service called ThinkingStorm, which can be accessed from the MyRCC Portal.
  • If you have questions about tutoring services, please contact Dean Beck at 336-633-0265.

If you have been accepted into the Associate Degree Nursing program and are currently taking Nursing courses, please contact your Nursing instructor for information on nursing tutors.

Tutors can be students at RCC or nonstudents who have academic experience in the subject they are tutoring. All tutors have successfully completed the courses for which they provide tutoring. Tutors must show academic proficiency in the course and have good interpersonal communication skills. In addition, tutors are expected to maintain confidentiality, work well with peers and faculty and be prompt for tutoring sessions. Tutors complete employment forms and tutoring reports and are paid through the Student Success Center. The number of tutors available per semester varies.

Typically, our tutors have taken a class at RCC and received a grade of an “A” or a “B” to qualify to tutor for that class. We also have tutors who have completed classes at other colleges or universities. To apply to be a tutor please use the application on the HR website for part time employees, which can be found here.

When you have completed the application, Dean Beck will contact you with further details if a tutoring position is open.
