The Randolph Community College (RCC) Board of Trustees has named retiring Board Chair Reynolds Lisk Trustee Emeritus, recognizing his exemplary service, transformative leadership, and extraordinary contributions to the College during more than a decade of dedicated service.

“Randolph Community College has been a big part of my life for the past 12 years, and serving on this Board has been one of the most rewarding experiences I've ever had,” said Lisk, who was honored during the June Board meeting on Thursday, June 18, at the Koury Convention Center. “It is not easy to walk away, but I believe this is the right time. The College has strong leadership, a dedicated Board of Trustees, and a talented team in place. I am proud of what we have accomplished together and confident RCC will continue moving forward without missing a beat. I am grateful to everyone who has supported both the College and me throughout this journey.”

The lifetime honorary designation is among the highest distinctions conferred by Randolph Community College and is reserved for former trustees whose leadership and commitment have made a lasting impact on the institution, its students, and the communities it serves.

Lisk joined the Board of Trustees in 2014 and was elected Chair in 2023. During his tenure, Lisk helped guide Randolph Community College through one of the most transformative periods in its history, including the successful presidential transition that brought Dr. Shah Ardalan to the College. Under his collaborative leadership, RCC strengthened workforce partnerships, expanded educational opportunities, and advanced strategic initiatives that positioned the College for continued growth and innovation.

“Reynolds has been an extraordinary partner, mentor, and friend throughout my time at Randolph Community College,” RCC President/CEO Ardalan said. "From the day I arrived, he generously shared his knowledge of Randolph County and introduced me to the people and organizations that help make this community so special. His leadership, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to the College have helped position RCC for continued success. I am deeply grateful for all he has done for me personally and professionally, and for the lasting impact he has made on our students, employees, and community.”

A lifelong Asheboro resident and respected community leader, Lisk has dedicated decades of service to organizations and initiatives that strengthen Randolph County. His commitment to Randolph Community College continues a family legacy of leadership and service. His father, Tyler Lisk, also served on the College's Board of Trustees and as Board Chair.

“Reynolds has led this Board with integrity, dedication, and a genuine commitment to the success of Randolph Community College,” Vice Chair Chris Yow said. “Through both opportunities and challenges, he has remained focused on what is best for our students, employees, and community. We are grateful for his leadership and the strong foundation he leaves for future trustees.”

The Board formally recognized Lisk during its annual retreat, where trustees adopted a resolution honoring his service and presented him with a commemorative plaque and a signed painting in appreciation of his leadership and lasting contributions to the College.

The Trustee Emeritus designation recognizes former trustees who have provided significant service and made extraordinary contributions to Randolph Community College. As Trustee Emeritus, Lisk will maintain a lasting affiliation with the College and may be invited to participate in Board meetings, College activities, and special events.

The Board will announce new leadership following Lisk's retirement.
