Payroll Policy
(Information regarding employee compensation for payroll)
As a benefit to our employees, the College offers a direct deposit payroll system. Direct deposit is mandatory for all employees.
Full-time employees' direct deposit advice is available on Self-Service on the last working day of each month. If the last day of the month falls on a weekend or holiday, the pay advice is available on the last working day before the weekend or holiday.
Part-time employees’ direct deposit advice is available on Self-Service on the 17th of each month. If the 17th falls on a weekend or holiday, the pay advice is available on the last working day before the weekend or holiday.
Full-time employees who also work Part-time for the College will receive their combined compensation from both payrolls on the last working day of each month, which will be the same as the Full-Time payroll compensation process.
Federal and state income tax withholdings, Social Security, and retirement contributions are obligatory deductions. These deductions are legally required by federal and state law, and for North Carolina State Employees, the retirement contribution is a condition of employment.
Action required for payroll deductions: Please notify the Business Office promptly if there are any changes to your banking account information, tax status, or dependent information.
Employees separating from the college by resignation are required to complete the RCC Employee Exit Checklist. The completed form must be returned to Human Resources for verification before issuing an employee’s final paycheck.
There will be NO checks distributed prior to the dates referenced above.
NOTE: The distribution of any payroll funds is contingent on certification of fund availability by the North Carolina Office of the State Treasurer.
