RCC hosting Industrial Maintenance Technician apprenticeship Information sessions Oct. 7
Randolph Community College (RCC) will host two information sessions Wednesday, Oct. 7, for adults interested in its Industrial Maintenance Technician (IMT) apprenticeship and employers seeking to develop their maintenance workforce. The sessions begin at 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. in the lobby of the Continuing Education and Industrial Center, 413 Industrial Park Ave., in Asheboro.
Attendees can meet current IMT employer partners, hear from apprentices about their experiences, learn how the program works, and tour RCC’s Industrial Systems Technology training areas. Current partners include Energizer, Toyota Battery Manufacturing North Carolina, Timken, and Ziehl-Abegg.
The apprenticeship combines paid work with classroom instruction at RCC. Apprentices train with participating employers while working toward an associate degree in Industrial Systems Technology. RCC is recruiting applicants for the program’s fourth cohort; applications opened Sept. 22. Employers interested in joining the program can also learn about becoming a partner.
“These apprentices are the embodiment of Earning Through Learning,” RCC President/CEO Dr. Shah Ardalan said. “They’re gaining paid experience with local employers while building the skills and credentials for a career in industrial maintenance. The partnership also helps employers develop the technicians they need.”
