Randolph Community College’s Office of College Marketing (OCM) made a powerful debut at the annual Public Relations, Information, and Marketing Association (PRIMA) NC Conference, held September 17-19 at Isothermal Community College, earning a prestigious award for branding in the inaugural PRIMA NC Awards competition. The win underscores RCC’s commitment to strategic, innovative, and results-driven marketing that connects with students, faculty, and the community.

“This award speaks volumes about the innovation and dedication of our Marketing and Communications team,” RCC President/CEO Dr. Shah Ardalan said. “They have moved RCC from simply participating in statewide conversations to leading them. This recognition proves that when we combine strategy with creativity, we can shape not just perceptions, but futures — for our students, for our college, and for the entire region.”

The PRIMA NC Awards celebrate excellence in marketing, communications, and public relations across the North Carolina Community College System and recognize work based on strategy, execution, creativity, and measurable results.

The RCC OCM team garnered recognition for branding with its submission of the College’s mobile outreach unit design and wrap designed by Crutchfield.

“We are truly honored by this recognition from our peers at PRIMA,” Senior Director of Marketing and Communications Micki Bare said. “This award is a testament to the efforts of the entire RCC Office of College Marketing team, which strives to analyze data, listen to departmental needs, and strategize to develop creative pieces and campaigns that connect with and inspire prospective and current students, staff and faculty, and the community.”

This award marks a milestone: RCC not only delivered outstanding creative and strategic work over the past year but has also set the bar high for what community college communications can achieve in North Carolina. As RCC moves forward, it will build on this momentum to further deepen engagement with students, stakeholders, and the broader region.
