Before Classes Start - Top 10 for Success

10. You are responsible for everything posted in your online course.
You are expected to read all posted material and complete all assignments.

9. Be aware of time limits on quizzes.
If your quiz is timed you must complete it before the time runs out to receive credit.

8. Don’t use personal email for school communication.
Use your RCC email or Moodle to communicate with your instructors.

7. You won’t be able to see your online courses before 9 a.m. on the first day of the semester.
It may also take a day or two for instructors to make a course visible.

6. Log into Moodle and your RCC email at least once every 48 hours.

5. RCC recommends using the latest version of Firefox or Chrome.

4. Time management is your friend.
Don’t wait until the last hour to complete a quiz or an assignment. Technical support is only available during business hours and most instructors won’t accept technical issues as a reason for late work.

3. Your instructor is the first person you should contact if you have a problem with an online course.

2. MyRCC passwords expire every 45 days.
You must enroll in the password re-set tool before that time so you don’t get locked out. Click here (https://reset.randolph.edu/PasswordReset) to enroll in the password re-set tool. If you are having trouble logging into Moodle, you must call Computer Services at 336-625-1573; they are the only department that can help with login issues.

1. The first thing you should do the first day of an online class is to print (or save) and read your course syllabus before completing the syllabus quiz.
You may have assignments due before the Syllabus Quiz due date that won’t be visible until the Syllabus Quiz is complete.
