Learn how to work smart online through RCC

ASHEBORO (June 8, 2020)

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, reliance on technology has increased. Randolph Community College is offering a chance to improve career skills online this summer with a “Working Smart” course.

The goal of the class is to assist in finding a job, keeping a job, or finding better employment in addition to setting educational goals that will lead to success. Sessions include: Gain Your Competitive Edge, Learn the Secret to Unlock Workplace Communication, Be More Effective in the Workplace, Get Noticed by Your Employer, and Climb the Ladder to Success.

RCC is offering several opportunities to take the course in June and July. The first class (#H4059) is June 15-19 from 9 a.m.-noon and June 22-24 from 6-9 p.m. (#H4060). The second round is July 6-10 (#H4061) from 9 a.m.-noon and July 13-15 (#H4062) from 6-9 p.m. The third opportunity is July 20-24 (#H4063) from 9 a.m.-noon and July 27-29 (#H4064) from 6-9 p.m. Each class is eight days long.

The fee of $70 for individuals enrolling may be granted a waiver of registration fees if they meet at least one of the following criteria:
• Are unemployed
• Have received notification of pending layoff
• Are working and are eligible for the federal earned income tax credit
• Are working and earning wages on or below 200 percent of the federal poverty guidelines.
