ASHEBORO (Nov. 27, 2018)
Randolph Community College’s Workforce Development and Continuing Education Division will offer both a Saturday course on forklift operation and a ServSafe course in December.
“Forklift Operator Training” will be held from 8 a.m.-1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 8 (#68525) in room 223 at the Continuing Education and Industrial Center on RCC’s Asheboro Campus. There also will be Saturday courses Feb. 16 (#68526) and April 13 (#68527).
This course provides instruction on the operation and maintenance of a Powered Industrial Truck (forklift). It is OSHA compliant and taught by a State of North Carolina certified instructor. It is a comprehensive, hands-on program that covers all aspects of lift truck training. A certificate of completion will be provided to all students who successfully complete the course. Students should wear sturdy, closed toe and heel shoes (no crocs or flip-flops) and appropriate clothing for the weather conditions as the hands-on portion will be outside.
Participants must be 18 years of age or older to enroll in this class. The cost of the course is $70.55.
The three-session “ServSafe” class (#68297) is Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 3-4, from 4:30-8:30 p.m. and Wednesday, Dec. 5, from 4:30-7 p.m. in room 104 of RCC’s Randleman Center at 100 Hilliary Street.
The ServSafe program was developed by the National Restaurant Association with the help of food service industry experts. Years of experience and inside knowledge of the food service industry are at the core of the course, exams, and materials.
This program blends the latest Food and Drug Administration Food Code, food safety research, and years of food sanitation training experience. Students will learn to implement essential food safety practices and create a culture of food safety. Upon completion, participants will receive nationally-recognized certification by the National Restaurant Association, required by the manager on duty to earn a 100% Health Inspection Grade.
RCC will be offering “ServSafe, Spanish” (#67309) at the Asheboro Campus from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, in room 223 of the Continuing Education and Industrial Center.
Students must attend all sessions in order to take the exam; no absences are allowed.
