Info Session for RCC/Pfeiffer Education Programs Set for Feb. 26

ASHEBORO (February 6, 2018)

Pfeiffer University's Division of Education and RCC's University Center of Randolph County will host an information session from 4-6 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 26, for teaching assistants or other adults interested in earning a bachelor of arts degree in elementary education or bachelor of arts in special education and becoming licensed teachers.

The drop-in session will be held in the Martha Luck Comer Conference Center on Randolph Community College's Asheboro Campus at 629 Industrial Park Avenue.

This collaboration between Pfeiffer and RCC is designed for those who either hold an associate of arts degree from a community college or have completed at least 24 undergraduate academic credits.

Pfeiffer's program at RCC, which is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and approved by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI), typically takes two and a half years to complete with seated classes at RCC in fall and spring semesters (on Monday nights) as well as online during summer months. Occasionally students need to be available at others time for activities like classroom observations and student teaching.

Financial aid is available for those who qualify. Scholarships of up to 40 percent off the cost of tuition are available to applicants currently employed full time by a public or private school/agency that requires licensure through the North Carolina Department of Education.

It is not necessary to attend the informational meeting to apply.
