Randolph Community College students Brandon Watt of Franklinville and Landon Bare of Liberty graduated from the North Carolina Community Colleges Student Leadership Development Program in Raleigh this spring. Both students also completed their associate degrees and graduated from RCC in May.

RCC Foundation Announces 2018 Presidential Scholars

Five outstanding Randolph County high school students have been chosen in a competitive process as Presidential Scholars at Randolph Community College for the 2018-2019 school year. Madison Nicole Chisholm, Averi Anna Ridge, and Carson Ray Wright, all of Asheboro High School, and Allyson Cole Needham and Brooke Nicole Richardson, both from Southwestern Randolph High School, will receive two-year RCC scholarships through the Presidential Scholars program funded by the Randolph Community College Foundation.

Over 540 Graduate from Randolph Community College

A record crowd watched 299 Randolph Community College graduates cross the stage area to receive their degrees, diplomas or certificates on Wednesday night in the Asheboro High School gymnasium. The gymnasium was full, the nearby Performing Arts Center almost full with family and friends watching a live video feed, and an RCC network specialist reported that 530 sessions were initiated with the live internet stream, with many streaming from iPhones and Android phones.

RCC’s Toni Formato to Serve on State Board of Community Colleges

RCC student Toni Formato of Denton was elected president of the North Carolina Comprehensive Community College Student Government Association (N4CSGA) at the state conference recently. By virtue of that office, she will also serve as the student representative on the State Board of Community Colleges for the 2018-19 academic year. Formato is enrolled in the Associate in Science (College Transfer) program and currently serves as president of the RCC’s Student Government Association.

Learn “Acrylic Pour Painting” in Randolph Community College Class

ASHEBORO (May 3, 2018)

Randolph Community College will offer a class in “Acrylic Pour Painting” beginning May 14. Acrylic pour painting is the art of mixing two or more paint colors in the same container, pouring them onto a canvas or other medium in a desired pattern, then using gravity to move the paint around creating interesting and sometimes surprising colors and results.
