Basic Electrical Technician Course Begins at RCC in May

ASHEBORO (April 16, 2018)

Randolph Community College’s Workforce Development and Continuing Education Division is offering a “Basic Electrical Technician I” course beginning in May that will cover the principles of electrical wiring. Emphasis is on Ohm’s law, alternating and direct currents, series circuits, parallel circuits and series parallel circuits, use of electrical tools and equipment, wiring materials, and many other special subjects. Preventive maintenance and troubleshooting as well as National Electrical Code will be covered.

Jessica McDaniel Named RCC Small Business Center Director

Jessica Lea McDaniel has joined Randolph Community College as the new Small Business Center director. In this position, she is responsible for organizing, implementing, and administering the Small Business Center program, which provides free seminars, small business counseling, and links to resources for local entrepreneurs. The Small Business Center is located in the Continuing Education and Industrial Center at 413 Industrial Park Avenue on the Asheboro Campus.

Walter Matthew Hoover, a professional musician and teacher for the past 30 years, will teach a "Basic Guitar" course at Randolph Community College beginning Wednesday, April 4. In this course, students will learn the basics of guitar technique that make a strong musical foundation. Topics covered include use of a pick or plectrum, note reading, fretting notes, and playing open position chords. Easy examples of famous songs will be used throughout to make learning fun and inspiring.
