On Saturday, April 14, 2018, Beta Theta Rho, the local Five Star Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at Randolph Community College, welcomed 82 new members, the second largest group in the chapter’s 19-year history, during its fall Induction Ceremony which took place in the R. Alton Cox Learning Resources Center auditorium on the Asheboro Campus.

Basic Electrical Technician Course Begins at RCC in May

ASHEBORO (April 16, 2018)

Randolph Community College’s Workforce Development and Continuing Education Division is offering a “Basic Electrical Technician I” course beginning in May that will cover the principles of electrical wiring. Emphasis is on Ohm’s law, alternating and direct currents, series circuits, parallel circuits and series parallel circuits, use of electrical tools and equipment, wiring materials, and many other special subjects. Preventive maintenance and troubleshooting as well as National Electrical Code will be covered.

Jessica McDaniel Named RCC Small Business Center Director

Jessica Lea McDaniel has joined Randolph Community College as the new Small Business Center director. In this position, she is responsible for organizing, implementing, and administering the Small Business Center program, which provides free seminars, small business counseling, and links to resources for local entrepreneurs. The Small Business Center is located in the Continuing Education and Industrial Center at 413 Industrial Park Avenue on the Asheboro Campus.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, jobs for certified medical coders will increase 22 percent through the year 2022.
