RCC Foundation Seeks Applicants for Presidential Scholar Program; Deadline is Feb. 23

ASHEBORO (January 11, 2018)

The Randolph Community College Foundation will award two-year RCC scholarships to five high school seniors in Randolph County in 2018 through its Presidential Scholar program. The students will be chosen in a competitive process that includes an application packet and interviews, according to Joyce Wolford, director of foundation operations. This is the seventh year of the program.

Auto Dealer Licensing Classes Set at Randolph Community College

ASHEBORO (January 3, 2018)

Prospective auto dealers can take the DMV: Dealer Pre-License course at Randolph Community College, which provides the 12 hours of authorized prelicensing training required in North Carolina. Topics include powers of commissioner, dealer license plates, vehicle inspections, titling and registration, frequently used forms, and dealer disclosures. The course will be offered next from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 9 and Jan. 10. Registration for this course is $70. Additional sections are scheduled for March 27-28 and May 14-15.

11th Annual Fountain-Luria Student Leadership Academy Kicks Off with Revised Format

Four Randolph Community College students are taking advantage of a new format for RCC’s Fountain-Luria Student Leadership Academy this year. A smaller cohort allowed the planners to streamline and personalize the academy, giving students more time to bond and have one-on-one time with presenters, according to Kelly Heath, SLA committee chair.
