Medication Aide($70 + cost of textbook)
The “Medication Aide” class is designed to prepare non-licensed personnel with the skills required by the North Carolina Board of Nursing to practice as a Medication Aide in long-term care/skilled nursing facilities within the state of North Carolina. Topics include oral, topical, and instillation medication routes; medical asepsis; hand hygiene; terminology; and legal implications. Upon successful completion of this course, students are eligible to take the NCBON/NNAAP (North Carolina Board of Nursing/National Nurse Assistant Assessment Program) Medication Aide Exam.
The class (#72655) is Sunday-Thursday, Feb. 23-27. Sunday's class is from 1-5 p.m. and Monday through Thursday's classes are from 5-10 p.m.
A second class(#72657) is Friday-Sunday, Apr. 3-5, from 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. All are held in room 108 of the Archdale Center, which is located at 110 Park Drive.
The cost is $70. A textbook for the course must be purchased in the RCC Campus Store one week before each course begins.
