✅

Good Standing

Cumulative GPA 2.0 or above. You are making satisfactory academic progress. Keep it up!

⚠️

Academic Probation

🚫

Academic Suspension

On probation and earned below 2.0 term GPA. Not eligible to register for curriculum courses the following semester.

📊

Course Load Limits on Probation

Your course load is limited based on your cumulative GPA to set you up for success.

Cumulative GPA Max Courses Max Credits
0.00 – 0.99 1 course 4 credit hrs
1.00 – 1.50 2 courses 6 credit hrs
1.51 – 1.99 3 courses 9 credit hrs
💡
Need an exception? Registration above the limit requires a written justification and approval from your Success Navigator. Seated (in-person) courses are preferred for students with a GPA below 1.5.

Steps to Register on Probation

Complete Your Academic Success Plan

You and your Navigator will build a personalized plan together — this is your roadmap back to good standing.

3

4
Have Your Registration Hold Removed

📌

Important Things to Know

🎓
Already registered? If you registered before grades were submitted, your schedule will not change this semester. However, a restriction will apply the next time you register unless you have returned to a 2.0 or above.
📜
Special program requirements Some RCC programs have more rigorous academic progress standards. It is your responsibility to know and meet all requirements for your specific program.
💰
Financial Aid & Veterans Benefits Students receiving financial aid must also meet the Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) policy from the Office of Financial Assistance. Veterans benefits recipients must adhere to this policy to remain eligible.
🚫
Academic Suspension Students on suspension may not register for curriculum courses the following semester. To return, you must request readmission through the Readmission Policy (XII A 6) after the suspension period ends.
