Curriculum Scholarships

The RCC Foundation has numerous scholarship funds to assist Curriculum students with their educational goals. The Foundation awarded over $95,000 in scholarship funds to Curriculum students during the 2008-2009 school year.

High School Achievement Scholarships

A High School Achievement Scholarship is awarded to one senior at each public high school in Randolph County. The scholarship pays full in-state tuition and fees for two semesters of enrollment in a Curriculum program at Randolph Community College.

Continuing Education Scholarships

Continuing Education Scholarships also are available through the RCC Foundation to assist students who are enrolled in occupational training through RCC’s Continuing Education division. The maximum award amount is $200. Nearly $12,000 was awarded to Continuing Education students in 2008-2009.

Foundation Ambassador Program

Each year the RCC Foundation invites students meeting specific program requirements to apply and selects four students to serve as Foundation Ambassadors. Ambassadors serve the College by assisting with campus tours and special events. They also promote RCC and the Foundation on campus, in middle and high schools, and in the community. In return for their service, Ambassadors receive full in-state tuition and fees for the summer, fall, and spring semesters plus a $200 book allowance in RCC’s Campus Store. They also are supplied with a blazer and name tag for their uniform.

The 2009-2010 Ambassadors and their programs of study are:

  • Sarah Elizabeth Blackwell - Associate in Arts (College Transfer)
  • David Luther - Associate in Arts (College Transfer)
  • Susan Parent - Photographic Technology
  • Jennie Cheng - Business Administration

College Innovation Fund

The RCC Foundation invites students, faculty, and staff to apply for College Innovation Fund grants for innovative projects that fall outside of RCC’s operating budget. Applications are accepted quarterly and reviewed by a committee that makes its recommendation to the Foundation Board. Typically, the maximum award amount is $2,500. CIF grants totalling $8,700 were awarded in 2008-09.

Program Support

  • The RCC Foundation provides a variety of program support funds to bridge the gap between the needs of the College and the state operating budget.
  • Endowed funds exist with the RCC Foundation to benefit Associate Degree Nursing, Photography Technology, Interior Design, and Machining Technology. Earnings from these endowed funds may be used in these programs as needed. The principal balance remains in the fund.
  • The Foundation also holds various designated funds to benefit other programs such as Criminal Justice Technology, Basic Skills, Compensatory Education, and others. All money in designated funds may be used in these programs as needed.
