Foundation Board Resolution Supports Tax Referendum

ASHEBORO (February 11, 2010)

The Randolph Community College Foundation Board of Directors has passed a resolution in support of the ¼-cent sales tax referendum on the ballot for approval by Randolph County residents on March 2. The referendum is intended to support capital needs at Randolph Community College.

The RCCF Board of Directors is made up of business and community leaders who volunteer their time to provide governance for this nonprofit organization, which provides a margin of excellence for RCC by building a strong relationship with the local community, acquiring and managing contributions, and funding activities that support the College.

"The ability for RCC to grow, develop new programs, and serve more students plays an absolutely critical role in the area’s economic recovery," said Foundation Board President Steve Eblin, of the resolution passed during the Board’s meeting on Jan. 21. "The Foundation Board understands this and felt strongly that we should come forward with a resolution supporting the ¼-cent sales tax referendum. Without its passage, the College’s ability to meet the community’s needs will be severely jeopardized"
