Insurance Continuing Education
The N.C. Department of Insurance announced major changes to the Continuing Education Requirements effective Jan. 1, 2008. The Insurance CE course will have a one-time registration fee for the semester, but agents will be able to choose which section they need. The registration fee for Insurance CE courses is $65. Additional Dept. of Ins. fees ($1.65 per credit hour) and materials fees ($8 per course book) will be collected at the first class session. TAKE ONE OR ALL FIVE CLASSES FOR ONE REGISTRATION FEE. Insurance Customer Service Representative - NEW PROGRAM!
The Insurance Customer Service Representative program can be taken as a stand-alone course, in individual components as CE credit for currently licensed Insurance agents, or as a part of series of courses in an Insurance Customer Service Representative certificate program.
The specific CSR courses are offered in five modules:
1) Residential Risks & Related Coverages (8 hrs)
2) Auto Insurance & Related Coverages (8 hrs)
3) Commercial Property & Related Coverages (8 hrs)
4) Commercial Liability & Related Coverages (8 hrs)
5) Agency Operations & Related Coverages (8 hrs)
To receive the certificate as an Insurance Customer Service Representative Professional, the participant must complete all five of the CSR modules and successfully complete one of the Insurance Prelicensing courses as well as complete elective coursework (or demonstrate proficiency) in the following: Grammar and Writing, Office Etiquette and Protocol, Basic Accounting, and basic computer competency. (The electives can be waived by prior coursework and/or demonstrable experience or ability in those areas.)
Insurance Customer Service Representative Course Modules are offered through PIANC (Provider #S16241)
Students may take one or all of the modules for one course fee. Also, for a small additional fee, currently licensed agents may use these modules as Insurance CE credits.
