Travel Series Kicks Off At RCC Archdale Campus In October (Sept. 19,
2003)
ARCHDALE, N.C.--Ever wonder how to plan that perfect vacation?
Randolph Community College's Archdale Campus is offering a series of courses
that will help you plan anything from a trip abroad to a family getaway
in the North Carolina mountains.
"Making Vacation Planning Easy" will help you learn to use
the Internet to choose destinations, travel companies, and accommodations,
and how to know the difference between good deals and possible nightmare
vacations. This class will meet on Thursday, Oct. 2.
On Thursday, Oct. 9, you can learn to find unique vacation opportunities
within driving distance of your own home in "Vacationing Near Home/Road
Trips." Discover the wonderful resorts, attractions, theme parks,
historical sites, and family getaways available in North and South Carolina,
Virginia, Georgia, and Tennessee. Learn to plan your road trip to maximize
your vacation experience.
"Affordable Travel" is the topic of the next travel series
class, scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 16. This class will take you to destinations
you thought might be over your budget. Learn that travel is affordable
for all budgets, the way to get there, and the "how to" and
secrets to budget travel. In addition, you will see how traveling with
a group of friends could reward you with free travel.
The series will wrap up with "International Travel" on Thursday,
Oct. 23. This course is designed for the first-time traveler to destinations
outside the United States. Learn the things you need to know before planning
a vacation, such as security and health issues abroad, documentation requirements,
and what to expect when you arrive on foreign soil.
All four classes will meet from 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. on the Archdale Campus.
The cost for each class is $20. To preregister for one or all of the classes,
call RCC in Archdale at (336) 862-7980 or in Asheboro at (336) 633-0267.
