Randolph Community College Offers
Advanced Spanish Interpreter Certificate

ASHEBORO, N.C.—Randolph Community College's Community Spanish Interpreter program is offering a new Advanced Certificate option that is designed for persons who already speak Spanish (native or otherwise).

The Advanced Certificate will provide those with Spanish-speaking experience the opportunity to further improve their proficiency and, especially for native speakers, to hone their reading and writing skills in their native language. In addition, actual practice interpreting and a co-op within the community are included as the students choosing this curriculum will already have proven proficiency through Spanish 212 and have skills equivalent to the basic certificate.

The Advanced Certificate, which totals 16 credit hours, includes classes focusing on a review of grammar, Spanish phonetics and the structure of language, analytical skills, culture and civilization, an introduction to translation, and a cooperative work experience.

Interested persons should call Sarah Perera at (336) 633-0316 to schedule a Spanish proficiency test and complete an application. Registration for fall is Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 13 and 14.
