Robin Johnston Named RCC VP For Development
ASHEBORO, N.C.--Robin C. Johnston has been named Randolph Community
College's vice president for development and executive director of the
RCC Foundation. This new position was created to combine the College development,
marketing, and planning and research functions.
Johnston was most recently the principal of INVICTUS Solutions Group
in Charlotte, a consulting service which focused on lead generation and
business development. Johnston was chief marketing officer for Verian
Technologies, a supply chain management software company, from May 1999
to September 2002. He served a three-year term as city councilor for the
city of Brockville, Ontario. Johnston also was marketing director for
Clarke College in Canada from 1995 to 1997.
Johnston comes from a community college background, having dropped out
of high school to start a courier company. After two years, he sold the
company and entered St. Lawrence College where he earned a diploma in
business administration with a marketing major, graduating with distinction.
Johnston went on to earn a bachelor of business administration (marketing)
from Lakehead University and an MBA from the University of Toronto, focusing
on marketing and corporate strategy. His other training includes completion
of both the Canadian Securities Course and the Canadian Accredited Insurance
Broker's Program.
A member of the Canadian Association of Management Consultants since
2000, Johnston also has been vice president of education at University
City Toastmasters since July 2003 and a board member with the Charlotte
YMCA since 2001. He won the Brockville & District Advertising &
Sales Club Award for Marketing Excellence in 1998.
He is the son of Neville and Geri Johnston of Brockville, Ontario, Canada.
Johnston and his wife, Marylou, are planning to move to the Asheboro area
in the near future.
