RCC Continues Computer Courses
At County Libraries In October
ASHEBORO, N.C.--Basic computer classes that are free to the unemployed
will continue at Randolph Community College and at the county libraries
in October. The classes are designed to help those who want to enter or
reenter the workforce. The classes are being funded by a Digital Literacy
grant through the Rural Internet Access Authority's e-NC initiative. They
are free to those who are unemployed, have been notified of impending
layoff, or meet eligibility requirements. For others, the cost is $55
plus a $2 supply fee.
"Computer Skills for the Complete Beginner" will be offered
at the Franklinville, Liberty, Randleman, and Ramseur Public Libraries
in October. This class is for the new computer user. It will introduce
computers and computer technology, the differences between hardware and
software, keyboard mastery, basic mouse applications, all functions with
Windows, and file management.
It will be held Oct. 20 - 29, Mondays and Wednesdays, from 5 - 8 p.m.
at the Franklinville Public Library; Oct. 21 - 30, Tuesdays and Thursdays,
from 9 a.m. - 12 noon at the Liberty Public Library; and Oct. 21 - 30,
Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 1 - 4 p.m. at the Ramseur Public Library.
In addition, it will be offered at the Randleman Public Library, Oct.
22 - 31, Wednesdays and Fridays, from 1 - 4 p.m.
RCC will offer "Software for Career Development" on the Asheboro
Campus, Oct. 28 - Nov. 20, Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 6 - 9 p.m.
