RCC's Archdale Campus Sets Computer Classes
On Web Pages, Genealogy & Microsoft Word

 

ARCHDALE, N.C.--Sharpen your computer skills this spring with one of three computer courses set to start at Randolph Community College's Archdale Campus next week.

In "Creating Web Pages," students will learn how to read and write HTML code. Hands-on exercises teach the operation of an HTML editor, proper format for HTML code writing, and web page design. The class (#0301791) will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 6 - 9 p.m., May 14 - June 11. The cost is $55, plus a $2 supply fee.

If you are interested in researching your family history, take "Genealogy on the Web," which will meet from 9 a.m. - 12 noon on Wednesdays, May 14 - June 4. You will be able to explore the many Internet sites where you can search for family names as well as receive information on available software and how to organize records that you find. Students must have basic computer knowledge and will need an E-mail address, an Internet connection, and a printer at home. The cost of this class (#0301793) is $45, plus a $2 supply fee.

"Microsoft Word, Introduction" will be offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays, May 15 - June 17, from 6 - 9 p.m. Features covered include creating and editing documents, date/time/symbols, page breaks, paragraph marks, aligning and formatting text, spike, format painter, document scraps, help, spell and grammar checking, thesaurus, find and replace, go to and hyphenation, line spacing, text indentations and margins, bulleted lists, and organizing projects using the Internet. Students must have knowledge of keyboarding to take this class (#0301786). The cost is $55, plus a $2 supply fee.
