Randolph Community College Foundation
Announces Juried Photo Competition
ASHEBORO--The Randolph Community College Foundation is sponsoring
a Juried Photo Competition this spring with the theme "Randolph County:
Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow." The competition is open to all
professional and amateur photographers. The winning photos will be framed
and auctioned to benefit RCCF's 2004 annual fund-raising campaign.
In addition to raising money, which this year goes toward funding a
new Student Success Center at RCC, the Foundation aims to create a library
of photographic images of Randolph County for public display at the College.
Photographers will compete in five categories: People, Places, History,
Newsmakers, and A Look Ahead. One thousand dollars in cash prizes will
be awarded as follows: Best in Show - $250; First Place - $100 (5 winners);
and Second Place - $50 (5 winners). The jury consists of three respected
and well-known photography professionals who will choose the winners through
a blind judging process.
An entry fee of $25 for up to three submissions and $15 for each additional
submission must accompany entries and be received by the deadline of April
30, 2004. Entries must be submitted as 8" x 10" prints.
All winning entries, including Honorable Mentions, will be displayed
at a Gala Reception/Auction to be held Thursday, June 10, from 6 - 8 p.m.,
at Pinewood Country Club in Asheboro. The RCCF will print and frame Best
in Show, First Place, and Second Place winners for auction at the reception.
