scuba certification course that provides fundamental knowledge and skills
to scuba dive.
"SCUBA Diving: Basic Open Water" will begin March 11 at the
Archdale Campus and March 18 at the Asheboro Campus. The classes will
meet from 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays and from 9 a.m. -
1 p.m. on Saturdays. The classes will end on March 22 and March 29 respectively.
Upon successful completion of this course, graduates are considered
competent to engage in open water dives to depths of up to 60 feet, properly
plan and conduct dives, and utilize basic rescue skills.
A fee of $175 covers registration, instructional costs, books, and pool
expenses. Students will need a mask, fins, snorkel and diving boots; all
except boots may be rented for $25. To complete the course, open water
check out dives are required at a cost of $100.
