Special Information Sessions for Latinos Scheduled
at RCC Library On June 23-26
ASHEBORO, N.C.--The Spanish-speaking community of Randolph County
is invited to tour Randolph Community College's library next week during
two information sessions sponsored by UNC-TV and RCC.
The sessions will be Monday, June 23, and Thursday, June 26, from 12
noon - 2 p.m. A brief information session regarding English as a Second
Language classes and computer literacy will follow the tour. The library
is located in the Learning Resources Center on the Asheboro Campus.
In addition, RCC is planning a "Taste of the Spanish-Speaking World"
Food Sampling Fair on Saturday, June 28, from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.,
in the Student Services Center.
These events are part of UNC-TV's Ready to Learn Latino Family Literacy
Project, which RCC Community Spanish Interpreter instructor Sarah Perera
has been involved in for the past few months.
RCC's Asheboro Campus is located at 629 Industrial Park Avenue, just
off Highway 220 Bypass at the McDowell Road exit.
