fall semester curriculum (credit) classes at Randolph Community College will take place on Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 13 and 14 at the Asheboro Campus. Registration also will be held at the Archdale Campus on Wednesday, Aug. 13.
The North Carolina State Legislature has increased tuition slightly for all community college students, and RCC has instituted some new fees for this year. Tuition was raised 3.2%, going from $34.25 per credit hour to $35.50 per credit hour for in-state students, a maximum increase of $20 per semester. Out-of-state tuition goes from $190.75 per credit hour to $197 per credit hour.
New student fees are being instituted this year to help make up for shortfalls in state funding. The new fee schedule was developed by a college committee with student input. Beginning in the fall semester, the following fees will be charged as applicable to the student: nonrefundable technology fee, $1 per credit hour, $16 maximum per semester; transcript fee, $5 per official transcript; graduation fee, $20 for graduating students; late application fee, $5 for applications received after July 27.
