‘Personal Skills for the Manager’ Class to Begin
Sept. 9 at Randolph Community College
ASHEBORO, N.C.--Become a certified manager through classes offered
at Randolph Community College beginning in September. The Certified Manager
exam is offered in cooperation with the Institute of Certified Professional
Managers on the campus of James Madison University. The designation of
Certified Manager is similar to that of Certified Public Accountant granted
to professionals in accounting. To qualify, students must meet minimum
professional standards of education, experience, character, and competence.
“Personal Skills for the Manager,” one of three courses designed
to help students prepare for the Certified Manager exam, begins Sept.
9 at RCC's Asheboro Campus. This class features a look at the traits individuals
need to be successful managers. Students will discuss their roles as a
leader, a communicator, a creative person, a decision maker, and a delegator.
The class (#0303560) will meet on Tuesdays, 6:30 - 9:30 p.m., Sept. 9
- Nov. 18. The instructor for this class will be John Sigmon. The registration
fee is $55, plus approximately $80 for a textbook.
The other two courses, to be offered in January and April, are “Administrative
Skills for the Manager” and “Interpersonal Skills for the
Manager.” It is strongly recommended that students have three or
more years of experience as a supervisor or manager prior to enrolling
in these classes. The courses also may be taken for personal and professional
development even though you do not plan to take the CM exam.
For more information on the Certified Manager Program or to preregister
for this course, call the Asheboro Campus at (336) 633-0267 or the Archdale
Campus at (336) 862-7980.
