Randolph Community College Offers
Aviation Ground School Starting April 5, 2004

 

ASHEBORO, N.C.--If youve always wanted to learn to fly, you can take the first step by enrolling in "Aviation Ground School" being offered by Randolph Community College beginning in April. The class (#0401346) will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays, April 5 - May 19, from 6:30 - 9:30 p.m., at the Asheboro Municipal Airport.

Students will receive 42 hours of instruction and upon completion of the course will have the aeronautical knowledge to pass the FAA written exam for private pilot, single engine, land. Classroom instruction will be supplemented by field trips as required. Topics areas will include weather, air traffic control procedures, aircraft systems, FAA regulations, navigation, basic aerodynamics, flight instruments, aircraft performance, and communication procedures. Book, plotter, and E6B flight computer are required. This part of the course is for ground school only and does not include flight training.
