RCC Phi Theta Kappa Inducts
Sixteen New Students
ASHEBORO, N.C.--Randolph Community College held its spring induction
for the Beta Theta Rho chapter of Phi Theta Kappa on Tuesday, April 1,
and inducted 16 students into this International Honor Society that recognizes
and encourages scholarship among two-year college students.
Phi Theta Kappa is the only internationally acclaimed honor society
serving two-year institutions which offer associate degree programs. The
organization serves to nurture its members and associates by sponsoring
meetings which educate, stimulate, and enrich. The Society affords international
recognition to students of distinguished achievement and provides a vehicle
which reflects the academic integrity of the associate degree program.
In order to be members of the society, students must carry a full-time
course load and maintain a G.P.A. of 3.5.
Following are the students who were inducted and their programs of study.
Asheboro: Jonathan A. Buck, Associate in Arts; Macy L. Hill, Advertising
& Graphic Design; Ashley M. Hunt, Criminal Justice Technology; Rebecca
L. Marriott, Criminal Justice Technology; Brandy R. Martin, Early Childhood
Associate; Lisa C. Martinez, Criminal Justice Technology; Ellen A. Penninger,
Photographic Technology.
High Point: Teresa L. Coble, Early Childhood Associate.
Liberty: Margaret S. Smith, Associate in Arts.
Randleman: Tina M. Klein, Associate in Arts; Wendy B. Meeks, Associate
in Arts.
Seagrove: Mary C. Hunt, Early Childhood Associate; James R. Pickeral
Jr., Associate in Arts.
Sophia: Harriett A. Walker, Associate in Arts.
Thomasville: Kendra L. Smith, Interior Design.
Trinity: Cleston R. Collins, Interior Design.
