Jerry Simpson rejoins Randolph Community College

Jerry L. Simpson has joined Randolph
Community College as vice president for student services. The vice
president for student services at RCC sets the direction for student
services programs and activities that enhance opportunities for
students to succeed, providing leadership for and oversight of
student recruitment, enrollment management, admissions, placement/testing,
orientation, registration and records, financial aid, retention,
student activities, career development, counseling, Veteran's Affairs,
the Success Center, and the Information Center.
Simpson previously worked for Randolph Community College from
1985 to 1990 as evening director. Since then, he has held numerous
leadership positions, including director of counseling services
at Guilford Technical Community College, director of counseling
and career services at Gaston College, and director of counseling
and career development at Rockingham Community College. He was
most recently interim vice president for student services at Rockingham.
He also has experience as coordinator of financial aid at New Mexico
Junior College and as a counselor with the North Carolina Employment
Security Commission.
Simpson's education includes a bachelor of arts degree in English
from Gardner-Webb University and a master of education in guidance
and counseling from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
A native of Greensboro, he is a graduate of Grimsley High School.
Simpson is a member of the North Carolina Community College Student
Development Personnel Association and the North Carolina Association
of Humanistic Education and Development.
Simpson and his wife, Shirley, currently live in Greensboro. They
have one daughter, Shannon. He is the son of Rosalee M. Simpson
of Greensboro.
