"I chose Randolph Community College because I wanted to transfer to a four-year university and RCC was the most logical choice. It has been one incredible stepping stone in the right direction in my path of success."
An Eastern Randolph High School graduate and a U.S. Navy Veteran, Daniel Smith saw Randolph Community College as a logical choice for him. “It has been one incredible stepping stone in the right direction in my path of success,” he said.
He is hoping to transfer to the University of North Carolina after graduating from RCC in 2011 and major in Marketing. His instructors at RCC have been a big influence on him. “Ms. Miskovich pointed me in the right direction for my major, which is marketing,” said Daniel. “Mr. Todd Thompson was an incredible influence while I was in his class. And Mrs. Earliwine is an extremely amazing professor and very smart.”
Daniel has been very active while at RCC, serving as public relations officer for the Student Government Association and the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. “I have a lot of friends at RCC and I respect the friendly environment that this school has to offer,” said Daniel.
He is also involved in community service projects, including helping to clean up the yard of a shut-in with the Campus Crusaders group. “I volunteer at a nonprofit organization called Conservators Center in Mebane, helping to enrich the lives of captive wildlife,” said Daniel.
“I love and deeply respect the hard-working students, staff, and faculty. I am very fortunate to be a part of something so amazing. RCC has helped me to achieve my future aspirations,” he concluded.
Daniel is the son of Billy and Donna Smith of Asheboro.
