Ashley Fetner

Photography Instructor Ashley Fetner

“RCC was the gateway that provided a way for me to change from a career where I had to go to work versus having a career where I wanted to go to work.”

Ashley Fetner says the education, preparation and contacts that he obtained while earning his A.A.S. in photography at Randolph Community College opened the door for his first job with former White House photographer B. Artin Haig.

After working with Haig for two years, Ashley taught photography at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, then at Caldwell Community College in Boone. While in Boone, Fetner started his own photography business. He moved to Columbia, S.C., and concentrated solely on his business for 15 years before returning to teaching in 2002 at Randolph Community College. Ashley still runs his photography studio in Asheboro, which specializes in home, location, studio and beach portraits. He has been in business for a total of 28 years.

Ashley has won numerous awards over the years.

Ashley attended Appalachian State University while in Boone and has been active in the Rotary Clubs in Milwaukee and Boone. He was also a member of the Business Network International and the Chamber of Commerce in Columbia. He is currently an active member of the North Carolina Zoo Society. He lives in Asheboro with his wife, Kay, and son, Heath.
