Randolph Community College will help celebrate North Carolina Manufacturing Awareness Week, April 7-11, 2014, by hosting an Advanced Manufacturing Open House on Thursday, April 10, from 6-8 p.m. in the Continuing Education and Industrial Center at 413 Industrial Park Avenue on the Asheboro Campus. In addition, RCC’s Welding Center at the Archdale Center, 110 Park Drive, will be open for demonstrations and tours. The public is invited.
Advanced manufacturing is modern, sophisticated, and uses cutting edge technology to create products used in fields such as aviation, communications, and health care.
Visitors can learn about training at RCC leading to careers in this field; talk to students and instructors in programs such as Computer-Integrated Machining, Mechatronics Engineering Technology, Electrical Systems Technology, and Welding Technology; participate in hands-on demonstrations of advanced manufacturing equipment; and tour the classroom and lab facilities.
