RCC Offers Comprehensive Welding Class Beginning Jan. 10

ASHEBORO (December 16, 2010)

Randolph Community College will offer a Comprehensive Welding class on the Asheboro Campus beginning Jan. 10.

This course teaches the basic welding skills to secure employment in the welding industry. The course prepares students for all types of welding employment opportunities to pre-certification training, using stick, MIG and TIG, while learning to measure, shape and cut all types of metals to meet specifications and standards. A student will receive lecture, demonstration, field trips, and practical applications, and be able to understand codes and testing standards. The student should be ready after completing this course to take the certification test preparation course to match the skills they possess with their job goals.

Gerald Hubbard will be the instructor for this class, which will meet Monday through Thursday, from 6-10 p.m., Jan. 10-March 24.
