As more and more businesses turn to e-commerce in this increasingly global society, more transactions between businesses are becoming electronic. That is why North Carolina became one of the first states to institute an e-notary system, providing a competitive advantage for business communities who want to provide more efficient and timely services to its customers.
Randolph Community College is offering an electronic notary class this summer at the Asheboro Campus. The class will be held on Friday, July 17 from 9 a.m. -1 p.m.
The E-Notary course will instruct existing notary publics in the newly legislated procedures required to exercise electronic notary acts. It will cover the N.C. E-Notary Act, eligibility and registration, e-notary processes, technology solutions and providers, ethics, consequences of misconduct, security standards, best practices, and departmental recommendations.
Participants must hold a valid commission as a North Carolina notary public and must bring a valid North Carolina driver's license and an active e-mail address in order to take the final exam. The course registration is $58, which includes the cost of a textbook. Call RCC at 336-633-0268 in Asheboro to preregister.
