Randolph Community College's Photographic Technology program will be hosting internationally known photographer Eric Meola on the Asheboro Campus on Wednesday, June 3, at 7 p.m. in the Photography Imaging Center. The program is being sponsored by Canon and the American Society of Media Photographers-North Carolina.
Meola's award-winning photographs are in private and public collections including the International Center of Photography in New York, the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, and the George Eastman House. His work has appeared in many magazines, and his advertising and corporate clients are a who’s who of the "Fortune 500."
In 2004, Meola's first book, "Last Places on Earth," was published. In 2006, Welcome Books distributed a book of his photographs of Bruce Springstein, "Born to Run: The Unseen Photos." His latest book, "INDIA: In Word and Image," was published in 2008.
In his program, Meola will cover numerous aspects of being a photographer - from business to practice issues. His main focus will be on his magnificent use of color - how and why he visualizes and thinks in color and uses color to tell his stories.
Randolph Community College students, faculty and staff can get in free with their student/staff identification card.
