RCC Basic Law Enforcement Training Top Graduates Named

Linda Shankle presents the Terry Shankle Award to RCC Basic Law Enforcement Training graduate Jerry V. Sudduth. The award for best all-around student is named after her late husband, who was a BLET director/instructor at RCC.

Randolph Community College held graduation ceremonies for its 58th and 59th classes of Basic Law Enforcement Training students on May 13 in the R. Alton Cox Learning Resources Center auditorium. Sheriff Maynard Reid and Chief of Police Rickey Wilson were guest speakers.
Special awards were presented to the following:
Top Gun Awards (best marksmen) - Gary D. Goss, Day Class; Jeremy V. Sudduth, Night Class.
Academic Awards (best grade point average) - Brian K. Davis, Day Class; Jeremy V. Sudduth, Night Class.
POPAT Award (best time on the Police Officer Physical Abilities Test) - Nicholas S. McKee, Day Class; Daniel L. Shropshire, Night Class.
Terry Shankle Award (best all-around student) - Jeremy V. Sudduth. The Terry Shankle Award is named after late BLET Director/Instructor Terry Shankle and is presented by his widow, Linda Shankle.
