Randolph Community College’s Radiography Class of 2009 held their Pinning and Awards Ceremony on Thursday, May 7, at Oakhurst Baptist Church. The guest speaker was Jana Richardson, a 2006 Radiography graduate who works at Randolph Hospital.
Nineteen radiography students were presented with their pins during the ceremony, which was conducted by Carol Howard, Radiography program director; Henno Tarikas, clinical coordinator; and Tammy Goins, instructor.
The Highest Academic Achievement Award went to Lindsay Prince, and the Clinical Excellence Award was presented to Lisa Smith. A special Perseverance Award was presented to graduate Stacey Winston for overcoming several hardships in the pursuit of her degree. In addition, the students presented Clinical Preceptor Awards to Margaret Getchel of Lexington Memorial Hospital and Teresa Lucas of Kernodle Clinic for being the most outstanding technicians at the clinical study sites.
The Graduating Class of 2009 includes Nancy Adkins, Pamela Cecil, Kimberly Coble, Jeffrey Coltrane, Jerry Cox, Justin Kirk, Kevin Little, April Locke, Felicia Marley, Stephanie Nelson, Holly Page, Lindsay Prince, Amy Sexton, Lisa Smith, Andrea Testerman, Rebekah Todd, Jessica Wall, Jenifer Walton, and Stacey Winston.
