Randolph Community College students will have several new choices when they register for fall semester classes this year. In addition to new Entrepreneurship associate degree and certificate programs, students will be able to complete some credit classes in half the time - 8 weeks instead of 16. Over 20 classes will be offered on this compressed Mini-Mester schedule.
Also new this fall, an evening certificate program in Advertising & Graphic Design that combines design and graphics classes and Chinese and Japanese classes offered via videoconferencing in a Global Language Consortium.
Registration for new and returning students for fall 2008 curriculum classes will be held between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 13 and 14, at RCC's Asheboro Campus. Students in the Archdale/Trinity area can register at the Archdale Center Thursday, Aug. 14, from 4-6:30 p.m. All new students must attend an orientation session prior to registering. Orientations will be held at 8 a.m., 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 3:30 p.m., 5 p.m., and 6 p.m. in the R. Alton Cox Learning Resources Center auditorium on the Asheboro Campus. Orientation at the Archdale Center will be at 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 14.
Fall classes begin Monday, Aug. 18. Students may register for classes and adjust their schedules Monday through Wednesday, Aug. 18-20, from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. During late registration, students may enroll only in classes that have not held the first class meeting.
Tuition, set by the North Carolina State Legislature, remains the same as last year: $42 per credit hour, or $672 per semester for 16 hours and up for in-state students. All students are charged an activity fee of $1 per credit hour, $16 maximum per semester, as well as a technology fee of $1 per credit hour, $16 maximum per semester.
