Randolph Community College will offer two OSHA classes at the Liberty Town Hall in June and July.
The OSHA Compliance Workshop (SEF3001CD87171) is scheduled for 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17. This workshop covers procedures for OSHA inspections to help companies avoid expensive fines. The information covered in this course is similar to the OSHA 10-hour course but in abbreviated format. Topics include OSHA history; terminology; stages of an OSHA inspection; components of safety plans, policies, and programs; hazardous communications plans; lockout/tagout, first aid, blood-borne pathogens, hearing conservation, fire extinguisher, confined space, and good faith policies; personal protective equipment; safety self-inspection log; OSHA poster; frequently cited standards; employer and employee roles and responsibilities; penalty schedule for violations; 300 log; required compliance training; materials available from OSHA; and how to contact OSHA.
An OSHA Record Keeping class (FIT3001R87172) is set for 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 17, designed for employees, supervisors, managers and others who need to understand and use proper record keeping procedures in maintaining OSHA records for their company or organization. This class begins with an overview of OSHA and record keeping and reporting requirements and progresses into more specific topics. Some of these topics include location of records, retention and maintenance of records, recordable and not recordable incidents, access to OSHA records, correct and incorrect forms and emergency action plans. Each segment of the class includes case studies and specific examples related to OSHA incidents and situations for clarification of requirements.
