RCC Cultural Arts Committee Seeking Community Input

ASHEBORO (May 29, 2008)

Randolph Community College's Cultural Arts Committee is seeking input as to types of concerts that would be of interest to students and the community.

"RCC President Dr. Bob Shackleford announced, as one of his initiatives for this year, that he would like to see more cultural events on our campus. These would draw in more members of the community and offer more campus events to our currently enrolled students," said Jennifer Macy, chair of the Cultural Arts Committee. The events could include periodic lectures and performances in the R. Alton Cox Learning Resources Center auditorium and would be complementary rather than competitive with other community cultural arts events.

The RCC committee is currently looking at four different bands, each with a different music style, for a fall concert. A questionnaire, which includes links to music samples, has been set up on surveymonkey.com to collect input from students and the community. "We are not certain we will be able to present these exact bands, but we wanted the community to hear the types of music we were considering," Macy said.

Interested community members should click here to participate in this survey. The survey will remain open through Friday, June 20, 2008.
