Basic Welding Classes Begin May 31 and June 2

ASHEBORO (May 28, 2008)

Randolph Community College is offering two options for students who would like to study Basic Welding - a Saturday course that begins May 31 and a weekday class that begins on June 2.

The Basic Welding course teaches students the basic principles, concepts, and procedures of welding using electrical arc welding and oxyacetylene welding equipment. Students will develop basic skills in stick welding and will be introduced to MIG and TIG welding applications. Students will learn how to use welding equipment and accessories safely through hands-on practice and upon completion will be able to perform vertical and horizontal welding tasks.

The Saturday class (WLD3106B87143) will meet from 8 a.m.-noon, Saturdays, May 31 through Aug. 9. The weekday class (WLD3106B87144) will meet from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, June 2-6. Both classes will be on the Asheboro Campus.
