According to state employment trends, North Carolina's job market will require an 11% increase in electrician's helpers and an 18% increase in electricians through 2014. Even in a tough economy when new construction is down, electricians and helpers are always needed to upgrade electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in existing businesses and industries.
Randolph Community College is offering an intensive short course to train electrician's helpers that combines both classroom and hands-on experience with emphasis on providing the student with entry-level electrical skills. If you are between jobs or just want a fast track to learning a new trade, register for this Electrician's Assistant course beginning June 9.
The course will meet from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Mondays through Thursdays, June 9 through July 30, on the Asheboro Campus.
The course is designed to provide fundamental knowledge about electrical wiring, circuits, safety, relevant experience with electrical tools and equipment, and an introduction to the National Electrical Code.
The registration fee is $65. Registration and prepayment of fees are required in advance to reserve your space in the class. For additional information or to register for the Electrician's Assistant course, contact RCC's Continuing Education Information Center at 336-633-0268.
