Machining Fundamentals Class Starts May 12

ASHEBORO (May 5, 2008)

Make yourself more valuable to potential employers by learning the basics of industrial maintenance in a short course at Randolph Community College. Register now for the Machining Fundamentals continuing education course, which will meet for one week, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, May 12-16, on the Asheboro Campus.

The course is designed to provide students with the fundamentals of how to safely set up and operate lathes, milling machines, and allied machines and tools typically found in a machine shop environment. Students will learn basic theory and safety associated with machine shop operations with emphasis on hands-on operation of specific machines, as well as how to set up machines, adjust speed, feed, and perform simple tasks using the machines.
