Randolph Community College is offering 8-hour and 12-hour classes that meet the educational requirement for students to obtain their North Carolina concealed carry handgun permit. The courses includes handgun safety, use of lethal force, and proficiency testing.
The 12-hour class is recommended for students who have limited or no experience in handling handguns. These students will get additional time on the weapons range firing their weapons. The 8-hour class is recommended for those students already experienced with handguns.
The 12-hour classes meet on Thursdays from 6-10 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on the following dates: March 27 & 29, April 10 & 12, May 8 & 10, and June 26 & 28.
The 8-hour classes meet on Saturdays from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on the following dates: March 8, April 5, May 17, and June 14.
The registration fee for either class is $47. Call 336-633-4165 to register for these classes, which are held at Randolph Community College's Emergency Services Training Center, 895 Training Center Drive, just outside of Asheboro.
