A Welding Fundamentals Certificate Program will be offered at Randolph Community College's Asheboro Campus beginning Monday, Jan. 28, and running through April. Both day and evening class times are available.
This program is designed to teach basic fundamentals that will qualify one for entry-level employment in welding. This course will begin with an introduction to welding safety, fundamentals, and techniques. Students will be introduced to Arc Welding, MIG welding, TIG welding, and Oxy-Acetylene Welding and Torch Cutting. The primary emphasis will be hands-on training allowing the students to develop basic skills in the use and application of stick and MIG welding techniques in various welding applications. Students will be evaluated on basic welding knowledge and skill development.
The daytime class (WLD3106A87100) will meet from 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m., Mondays and Wednesdays, Jan. 28-April 9. The evening class (WLD3106A87101) will meet from 6-9 p.m., Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, Jan. 28-April 17. Cost is $81.30, which includes insurance and a supply fee.
