Business Planning Course Begins at RCC October 22

ASHEBORO (October 9, 2007)

Randolph Community College will be offering a small business course titled "Business Planning for Beginners" to guide people through the process of creating small businesses, or improving an existing business. The course will be held from 6-9 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays, Oct. 22 through Nov. 28, and will be taught at RCC's Asheboro Campus.

Business Planning for Beginners is designed to help those who have started or are interested in starting their own small business. The classes are taught through experiential learning, and participants will develop an understanding of what is necessary for a small business to survive and thrive. Topics include "Am I Cut Out to Be A Small Business Owner," "Can My Business Support Me?" and "Pricing Your Products."

The course includes talks by guest speakers, including attorneys and accountants, who will cover subjects such as legal considerations, management and personnel, customer service, location and operations, cash flow, basic bookkeeping, financial ratios, tax planning and reporting, and business plans. Participants will be able to meet and network with key people from the community in areas vital to their businesses.
